Olwenya Maina was a Kenyan award-winning actor, voice artist, and director. His most famous performance was as “Oti” in the popular Kenyan film “Nairobi Half-Life”. He received numerous nominations, including best supporting actor in the AMAA (African Movie Academy Awards) in 2013. He was featured in the Sarabi band music Video Sheria.
Prior to signing up with Sisimka Productions and appearing in Wash and Set, Maina appeared in one episode of the KBC TV series Plot 10. He portrayed producer Alex Maranga on Guy Center. He became a member of the Churchill Show’s creative team at Heartstrings Kenya in October 2009.

Olwenya Maina Age
He was born on 18 Jan 1988 and reared in Kangemi, Nairobi. Maina went to Kangemi Primary School and Murang’a High School before switching back to a Nairobi high school due to family obligations.
Olwenya As Oti In Nairobi Half Life
In the movie Nairobi Half-Life, Olwenya Maina portrayed Oti, a violent gang boss.
At the Africa Movie Academy Awards, his performance of Oti won him a nomination for best actor in a supporting role.
Although the majority of people are only familiar with him from Nairobi Half Life and the most recent IEBC voter education advertisements, Maina has a strong background in cinema, television, and radio.
Olwenya Maina Death
On the night of July 4th, 2022, Maina collapsed and was rushed to the hospital, where he died. The cause of his death is yet to be revealed. A group of musicians and actors conducted a vigil dubbed “Olwenya Night. The vigil was held at the Kenya National Theater.

Olwenya’s body underwent a postmortem, which revealed that he died of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
The heart muscle thickens as a result of the disorder known as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, HCM).
The heart may have a harder time pumping blood due to the thicker heart muscle.
The family reveals that Olwenya, who was with a man named Ray, had returned home after going for a walk before he unexpectedly passed away. While holding hands, the two were joyful and sang and hummed melodies.
